About the Carmelite NGO<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Carmelite NGO<\/strong> has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC<\/a>) of the United Nations.\u00a0 We also have affiliations with other U.N. bodies, including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP<\/a>), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC<\/a>), the Global Coalition for Social Justice (GCSJ<\/a>), and the Department of Global Communications (DGC<\/a>).<\/p>

ITS MISSION\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 is to actively participate in creating a more peaceful, just and loving world by advocating and caring for the spiritual and material needs of the human family and the environment.<\/p>

ITS ACTION<\/strong>\u00a0focuses on: \u00a0care for the environment, human trafficking, freedom of belief, education of children and youth, hunger, and poverty. It provides the Carmelite perspective on every area before the United Nations.<\/p>

It is a\u00a0NETWORK<\/strong> for Carmelites who are involved in specific issues of Justice, Peace and Care for Creation, fostering the integral human development in an Integral Ecology perspective.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Carmelite NGO formally endorses two recent statements issued by the Most Pure Heart of Mary Province.\u00a0 One is on Gaza and the other is on migration.\u00a0 We hope you read, pray over and act upon the words found in these statements.\u00a0 They both address critically important political and moral issues.\u00a0 We would like it known that we stand in solidarity with immigrants and refugees and with the Palestinian people.\u00a0 These are our brothers and sisters and they are suffering.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
