The “tender mercy of God in the face of suffering humanity.”

Brief meditation with St. John of the Cross.

“In that immense Love that came from both, a word of great gift the Father to the Son said…”

“… as the Father and the Son and the one who came from them live in each other, so would humanity be that, within God absorbed, life from God would live.”

“I would give myself to those who love you, my Son, and the love that I have in you, I would put into them!

“I will go and find my wife (humanity), and she will take upon her toils and labors in which she has suffered so much; and because she has life, I will die for her, and bring her up out of the lake to you.”

Poem I by St. John of the Cross

[Left ring bottom is the Son, right ring bottom is the Father; in the big inner circle, the creation; and the minor inner circle, humanity person; upper ring is the Spirit of God. The Father embraces humanity to help and the Son services humanity in pain.]
