The United Nations Environment Program (UN Environment) is the main global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as a Authorized defender of the global environment.
Its mission is to provide leadership and foster partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing and allowing nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.
As an organization accredited by UNEP, the Carmelite NGO can also participate in regions and around the world, participating and contributing to regional consultations, the Global Forum of Major Groups and Stakeholders, intergovernmental meetings of the Permanent Representatives Committee and the Assembly of the UN Environment.
