The Special Synod for the Pan-Amazon Region convened by Pope Francis has addressed numerous and complex questions about the environmental situation and ecclesial life of the Amazonia region in the light of the issues contained in the Encyclical Letter Laudato Si’ and the concept of “integral ecology”.
The discernment process that was called to the Synod Fathers in October 2019 addressed issues that, while affecting the Amazonia, also affect other areas of the planet.
The volume includes the documents of the Study Seminar in preparation for the Synod, which took place in the Vatican from February 25 to 27, 2019, whose objectives are already expressed by the chosen title: “Towards the Special Synod for the Amazon: dimension regional and universal“.
