The handbook was developed by the International Commission for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation of the Carmelite Order following the International Congress of the Carmelite Family, held in Fatima in July 2017.
As an official document, the original English text of the handbook was approved by the General Chapter of the Order in September 2019 and published by Edizione Carmelitana in February 2020.
The JPIC Commission is currently working on an improvement of the English version in accordance with the updates done in the Spanish and Italian versions.
In these works, readers from countries of Spanish and Italian languages will find the biblical, theological, spiritual, ecclesiological and Carmelite tradition foundations as well as tools for action to carry out tour ministry of justice, peace and care for the creation that belongs to the Church.
