Our Italian Carmelite Caritas, in synergy with the Prior of the Italian Province of the Carmelite Fathers, has promoted the “Laudato Si’ circle” with the intention of involving the religious and lay Carmelite Family in the debate on the consequences of climate change for the study of the initiatives that the social community must take, taking into account the alarm coming from the scientists at the international level.
This is also on the basis of the studies carried out and the various documents adopted by the Carmelite NGO when participating in the two international congresses convened by the UN in Copenhagen and Paris.
The meeting will be chaired by Don Sergio Siracusano (Regional Director of the Sicilian Episcopal Conference for social problems, work, justice, peace and safeguarding of creation).
Father Prof. Eduardo Agosta Scarel, O. Carm. (Lecturer in Climatology) will present the Carmelite NGO activities on this issue, and Attorney A. Ventimiglia will present the activity carried out by the Italian Carmelite Caritas in the territory.
