“Ecological conversion” is a small work with 37 brief reflections written in ecological key by Fr. Eduardo Agosta Scarel, O.Carm., and published by the Carmelite NGO. It offers Catholic Christians and believers some considerations of faith to encourage us to undertake an active care for the environment, the earth, our common home.
Undertaking an active care of the environment is only the beginning of a deep and urgent process of “ecological conversion,” which begins at the Passover of Christ, is prolonged in time by the force of the Spirit, and will culminate when “the new heavens and the new earth” arrive (Rev 21,1).
The reflections start from the contribution of science, some key texts of the Bible and the “ecological” theology present in the teachings of the recent Popes of the Church, from Paul VI to Francis.
