CarmeNGO, An Expanding Spirit of Democracy

“So where do we look for aspiration and inspiration
to be reunited with the spiritual roots of our democratic
yearnings? We may begin with indigenous traditions
that have strong cosmovisions celebrating the kinship
of all life forms and communitarian social ethics that
emphasize a shared common good.” Mary Evelyn Tucker.

The current issue of CarmeNGO is entirely dedicated to the open reflection “An Expanding Spirit of Democracy”, by Prof. Mary Evelyn Tucker,  to help us prepare in prayer and reflection for the “Jubilee for the Earth” during the Season of Creation, from 1 September to 4 October.

Main topic: Dr. Tucker helps us undersand the deep connection between our democratic roots and the care for the Earth, from a historical and spitirual perspective. The reflection initially focuses on the United States’ itineray and then it expands to include the world’s milestones .
