CarmeNGO, new issue: The Church on the road to COP27 and COP15

“In the name of God, I ask the great extractive industries – mining, oil, forestry, real estate, agribusiness – to stop destroying forests, wetlands, and mountains, to stop polluting rivers and seas, to stop poisoning food and people” (Pope Francis)

In the 2nd issue for this year of CarmeNGO, the newsletter of the Carmelite NGO, we present the Message of Pope Francis, which calls on governments to take bold action for the upcoming Climate Summit in Egypt (COP27) and the Biodiversity Summit in Canada (COP15).

It highlights the importance of advocating for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty in order to meet the objective of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, in the words of Cardinal Czerny, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development.

Also, the testimony of AGAPE Leone, on human trafficking in Zimbabwe.
