Interreligious and intercultural relationship in Indonesia

One of the problems that the Indonesian faces most frequently is interreligious and / or intercultural conflict. Some efforts have been made by government, society and religious institutions to prevent these conflicts. They realize that everyone has to go hand in hand to create peace among the members of society.

Inter-religious dialog which was held by St. Joseph Carmelite Parish – Jember, Indoensia.

The Carmelite NGO of Indonesia actively supports a program to plant the seed of intercultural and interreligious awareness, and thus build a better social relationship. Local activities are developed to:

  1. Participation in interreligious discussion.
  2. The knowledge of those from out there.
  3. The promotion of interfaith forums.
  4. The motivation of young people for intercultural and interreligious encounters.
  5. Training multireligious leaders.

Fr. Hariawan Adji O.Carm. gave a talk on inter-religious relationship to the Jewish congregation in one of sinagogue in Jerusalem
